The port is designed with a main quay section measuring 500 meters long, capable of simultaneously berthing two vessels with a loading capacity of up to 20,000 DWT each or three vessels with a loading capacity of 10,000 DWT each, along with berths for barges at the rear; the construction of a 180-meter inner berth adjacent to the shore; the construction of three leading bridges… Additionally, the warehouse and storage area will be comprehensively invested in, equipped with modern infrastructure to best meet the requirements for general cargo and container handling. As such, the Vạn Ninh Comprehensive Seaport has the capacity to accommodate sea vessels with a loading capacity of up to 20,000 tons, river-sea ferry boats, and inland waterway vessels. It serves as a hub for the collection and distribution of import and export goods for Vietnam to the Chinese market, forming a logistics service chain to maximize efficiency for import and export cargo.

In particular, the Vạn Ninh Comprehensive Seaport is expected to support the development of various industries, commerce, and services, making a positive contribution to the growth of GRDP and local budget revenues, both in Móng Cái City and Quảng Ninh Province as a whole. It will also play a role in safeguarding national security, especially Vietnam’s sovereignty over its maritime territories.
The investment and construction phase is projected to span three years, with completion and commencement of operations planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
